Hello, this is my first post
by noralee inhello, this is my first post, i would like to introduce myself and say thank you to every one on this forum, you have been a lifeline to me these last few years.. i had been a jw for 30 years when i walked away a few years ago disgusted by the treatment victims of child abuse, domestic abuse and rape receive from the wtbts.. at first i thought it was a local problem, elders personal opinions, the way they handled the situations, imperfect men etc., until i checked out jehovahs witnesses and child abuse/domestic abuse online.
that's when i realized they had the same modus operandi worldwide.
that led me here, tbuo this forum, and then to crisis of conscience, jw facts, watchtower documents, jw survey, old watchtower literature and cd s, reading a couple of steve hassans books, and more recently exiting the jw cult.. the feelings of shock, betrayal, anger at the wtbts, angry with myself for being so gullible, depression, reflection, loneliness, have taken their toll.

Another email chain I was sent this morning. Damn I'll never get any work done. I'm all choked up over this shit.
Sweden: Eritrean Welfare migrant cuts throat of host family’s 7-year-old daughter over rent.
“A seven year old girl was stabbed to death in an apartment in Upplands-Bro in northern Stockholm on 25 July this year by a 36 year old man, Daniel Gebru. Ten months earlier Gebru arrived as a welfare of migrant from Eritrea to Sweden."

According to the email chain "the media has been attempting to cover over the trial and all evidence with only minimal reporting. Originally the media refused to report the crime as they did with the IKEA stabbings but eventually the news leaked from the migrant centre of registration which he then later fled, and a conservative journalist picked up on the story. The 36 year old Eritrean man went missing from the migrant centre shortly after registering as a refugee and lived with a Swedish family until they told him to leave for not paying allotted rent. He then returned and killed the daughter in the bathroom."

the problems they are facing are not just lack of funds but also draining authority, and the two could be a heady and explosive mix.
one of the best analyses ever written of the watchtower was a book called "trumpet of prophecy" by sociologist james beckford in the 1970s.

Women in this Org are looking for a Father Figure

Good! You said what needs to be said and make no apologies for it. I like that. I also have stories about being in a hall with 80% women who think they are elderetts.
She wants the org to tell her what to do. She wants the org to tell her she is being a bad girl or good girl. She can't let go of the warm and fuzzies of Jehovah up in the sky looking over her. Like a lot of women, unfortunately, she had (and still has) a bad relationship with her father.
It seems she is using the org to fill that void. I look around the kingdom hall and wonder if the same story isn't true of the other middle-aged women clinging to this org even as they drag in late looking miserable as hell.
That's 99.9% of all JWs and religion in general. The same applies to the men as well.

by Tenacious inthe majority of members who tend to join this forum have been hurt possibly even traumatized sometimes to the point of wanting to end their lives.
upon joining the forum, new members are welcomed with open arms, welcome messages start pouring in, "likes" are freely given, a false sense of security is promoted where a member is free to speak his mind without having to worry about the wt gestapo.
again, similar to how potential converts are welcomed and "love bombed" upon entering a kh for the first time.

I think you need to get out more. If someone says something that offends you, tell them like it is and move the fuck on. I guess being raised in a JW bubble can do that to you once you get out in the big bad world. If someone offends me I tell them to fuck off but I don't let it bother me. It is human nature. Plain and simple. -
